Wilma Irene Acord

Wilma was born on December 9, 1934 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Jess Sampson and Cora (McBroom) Green. She graduated from Stidham High School in 1954. On October 29, 1954, Wilma married the love of her life, Robert Gene Acord, who preceded her in death on November 16, 1988. They were happily married for thirty-four years. She worked as a McIntosh County Election Board Clerk from 1995 to 2000. Wilma was a member of the Stidham Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Wilma loved to cook, sew, garden, and watch t.v. Survivors include: son, Randy Acord, of Stidham, OK; daughters: Brenda Walker and husband, Steve, of Okemah, OK; Peggy West and husband, Jerry, of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Bessie Knox, of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren, Samantha Mellen and husband, Thomas of Anchorage, Alaska, Stephanie Harris and husband, Cody of Okemah, Curt Walker of Okemah, Jayson McHenry of Minneapolis, MN, and Kyle Acord of Boise, Idaho; and three great grandchildren, Trinity Harris, Joshua Mellen, and Lucas Mellen. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Acord; brothers: Jess, Webster, Robert, Jack, George, Frank, and Lawrence; and sisters: Etha and Geneva.
