Willie B. Dawson

September 7, 1928 — January 21, 2012

Willie was born on September 7, 1928, in Cushing, Oklahoma the daughter of George Edward and Margaret Ellen (Toupin) Lowe. She graduated from Bower High School. On July 18, 1945, Willie married Carl Hensley Dawson in Eufaula. She and Carl ran the Dawson Café for eight years when the lake was still under construction. Willie was the owner/operator of the Happy Hour Day Care Center for twenty years. She cared for many of the children in the area. In 1986, Willie became the pastor of the Longtown Full Gospel Church, building the church from the ground up. Survivors include: her sons, Carl Louis Dawson and wife Carol of Eufaula and Ronnie Dawson and wife Cindy of Eufaula; her daughter, Neomia Clark of Eufaula; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; her sisters, Edna Jones and husband Dave of Checotah and Betty Moore of Whitefield; her brothers, William Paul (Bud) Lowe and wife Naomi of McLean, Texas and Frank Lowe and wife Rose of Atoka. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dawson on February 14, 1981, her parents, her sisters, Audrey Grider and Ruth Newton and a brother Jeff Lowe.
