William Eugene Powell

William Eugene Powell, 85, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021, at his home. William was born on April 28, 1936, in Lewisville, Oklahoma, the son of Capp and Elnora Clark Powell. He graduated from Lewisville High School in 1955. He was a Lieutenant for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. William enjoyed taking care of animals and farming. He also took care of the Lewisville Cemetery. He was a member of the Harris Chapel Baptist Church of Lewisville. Survivors include: his son, Phillip Powell of Lexington, OK; daughter, Rachael Carter Hooks of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters, Shirley Keith of Oklahoma City, OK and Synomia Vealy of Lewisville, OK; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, LaDonna Marie Powell in 2002, grandson, Arlando Powell; sisters: Bessie Pittmon, Esther Miller, and Molly Powell; and one brother, Raymond Powell.
