William "Dave" Magreevy

October 13, 1926 — January 15, 2020

William David "Dave" Magreevy, 93, of Porum, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at his home. Dave was born on October 13, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of William Kirk and Marion Thelma (Harper) Magreevy. He graduated from high school and enlisted in the United States Army Air Force serving from March 15, 1945 to November 6, 1946 when he has honorably discharged. In 1956, Dave married Geraldine Mae Magreevy in Ashtabula, Ohio. She preceded him in death in 2015. Dave worked several years for the National Weather Service in Washington DC. He later worked twenty years for the Kroger Grocery Store and retired in 1976. Dave liked flying and wood working. He had his commercial pilot license before he received his drivers license. He was a member of the Eufaula First United Methodist Church. Survivors include: his sons, Dale Magreevy of Seminole, Mark Magreevy and wife Karen of Checotah and Paul Magreevy of Wewoka; his daughter that he never had, Terri King of Porum; five grandchildren, Christy, Beau, Matt, Christopher and Meagan and nine great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Thelma Magreevy, his wife, Geraldine Magreevy, a son, William D. Magreevy, one brother, Robert Magreevy and a sister, Diane Vanzant. Services are pending at this time.
