Wendel Joe Phelps

Wendel J. Phelps "Uncle Joe", 81, of Eufaula, passed away on February 18, 2015 at the Epic Medical Center in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Wendel was born on February 4, 1934 in Fox, Oklahoma to Jerry Jasper and Lula Myrtle (Anderson) Phelps. He graduated from Fox High School in 1954. Wendel worked as a printer in Ardmore. He also worked as a minister and in the oilfield. Wendel was married to Barbara Knighton for over twenty-five years, before she preceded him in death in 1995. Survivors include: two sons: Barry Glen Phelps and Joel Wayne Phelps; and one sister, Delores "Shan" Booth, of Eufaula, OK. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; his parents, two brothers: Vernon and Paul; and sisters: Bea and LaJoy.
