Wanda Nell Vance-West, 81, of Muskogee, passed away on January 20, 2015 surrounded by her family at her home. Wanda was born on April 7, 1933 in Dallas, Texas to Elzie C. and Mattie B. (Williams) Wilson. She attended Muskogee Central High School. On September 2, 1950, Wanda married Everett Leonard Vance, who preceded her in death on March 9, 1977. They were happily married for twenty-seven years and raised three children together. As a military wife, she traveled throughout Europe living in Germany and England. Her passion in life was being a homemaker, mother and "Gram". She later worked as a real estate broker owning her own agency and was also associated with Fuller Agency for many years. Wanda married Willie "U. J." West on November 8, 1993 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were happily married for twenty-one years. She was a great cook and enjoyed playing shuffle board with her husband, U. J., where they won many tournaments at the state and national level. She was of the Nazarene faith. Survivors include: her husband, Willie "U. J." West, of the home; son, Randy Vance and wife, Linda, of Moore, OK; daughters: Karen Sanders and husband, Billy, of Muskogee, OK; Sheryl Zuker and husband, Mike, of Eufaula, OK; step-daughter, Janis West; sisters: Nita Skierski, of Mabank, TX; Kay Tilley and husband, Donny, of Eufaula, OK; her brother-in-law Arthur Vance and wife Carmel of Phoenix, Arizona and brother-in-law Ray Vance and wife Carol of Muskogee; five grandchildren: Teah, Chad and wife, Amanda, Amy, Ashley, and step granddaughter NaTasha; and four great grandchildren: Bryan, Brody, Payton, and Blake; her loving dog, Sophie; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Elzie Wilson, Jr.; and one sister, Peggy Donakey.
