Walter Lee Pettit

Walter Lee Pettit, 83, of Eufaula, Oklahoma passed away Monday, October 14, 2024 at his home. Walter was born on November 2, 1940 to Gerald Wayne and Eunice Marie (Pickering) Pettit in Independence, Kansas. He enlisted in the United States Navy serving in the Naval Air Division. Walter married Sonya Sexton on June 13, 1960, in Independence, Kansas. They were happily married sixty-four years. Walter was a member of the Lake Eufaula Christian Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing and working in his garden. 

 Walter is survived by his wife, Sonya, of the home; daughter, Janelle Hyatte of Fort Worth; brother-in-law, Eugene Sexton and wife Carrol; six grandchildren Tyler Webber, Ryan Burns, Michael Bruno, Bryant Yeager, Carleen Hyatte and Reed Hyatte and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Eunice Pettit, and one daughter Michelle Bruno.
