Virginia Maude Manson

Virginia Maude Johnson Manson, 92, of Eufaula formerly of Duncan, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at her home. Virginia was born on November 19, 1919, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Irving E. and Lena Mae (Shields) Johnson. She attended Kumpf School and later graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City. On May 17, 1949, Virginia married Charles D. Manson in Kansas City. They moved to Duncan, Oklahoma in 1949 where Virginia lived until she joined her daughter in Eufaula in July of 2011. Virginia was a homemaker who loved her family. She was a member of the Duncan First Christian Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school to kindergarteners for forty years. She was also a Grey Lady hospital volunteer for ten years. Survivors include: her children, Carol Manson Katzer and husband Barry of Kansas City, Missouri and Patty Manson Fisher and husband David of Eufaula, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Jamie Fisher Bedford and husband Jeff of Broken Arrow, Clay Patterson and wife Carrie of Kansas City, Nathan Fisher and wife Yasue of Edmond, Lindsey Patterson of Kansas City, Ryan Fisher and wife Lacey of Oklahoma City and Dan Fisher of Oklahoma City; her great grandchildren, Jace Bedford, McKenzie Bedford, Ashlyn Bedford, Jaden Bedford, Kannon Bedford, Dean Patterson, Katherine Patterson, Lily Ai Fisher and one on the way. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles, her sister, Mildred Polich and her brother, Irving Johnson, Jr.
