Virgil Lauritz Anderson

Virgil Lauritz "Buck" Anderson, 77, of Porum, Oklahoma passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 at his home. Buck was born on August 19, 1940 in Los Angeles, California the son of Virgil Lauritz and Minnie Marie (Martz) Anderson. Buck graduated high school from Los Gatos, California. He enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1958-1961. On October 30, 1982, Buck married Merilyn S. German in San Martin, California. They were happily married thirty-four years. He and Merilyn lived in California until 2003 when they moved to Porum, Oklahoma. Buck was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the VFW. Survivors include: his wife, Merilyn, of the home; his son, Doug Anderson of Checotah; his daughters, Tonya Schuster of Oklahoma City, and Diana Finlason of Moore; his sister, Dianna Hubert of Oregon; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Renee Scheidt.
