Verna Jo Cox-Young

Verna Jo Cox-Young, 63, of Hanna, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024, at her home. Verna was born on June 21, 1961, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the daughter of David Edward Cox Sr and Nell Maxine (Johnson) Cox. She attended Fort Gibson Public Schools and lived in Fort Gibson until 2002, when she moved to Hanna, Oklahoma. On January 22, 2003, Verna married John Kenneth Young II in Van Buren, Arkansas. They were happily married for twenty-one years. 

 Survivors include her husband John, of the home; son, Richard Thames of Eufaula and step-son Allan Young of McAlester; step-daughter, Dreama Young of Eufaula; brother Randy Cox of Chouteau and one grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Nell Cox and brothers Michael Cox, David Cox, Jr, Terry Cox and Bruce Cox.
