Twanna Sue (Phillips) Deere, 70 of Eufaula passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Susie was born on October 7, 1950 in Lenna, Oklahoma to Dana Phillips, Jr. and Mina (Harjo) Phillips. Susie graduated from Stidham High School in May 1968. She also graduated from Eastern Oklahoma State College with an Associates Degree in Business Administration. Susie continued her education throughout the years at Connors State College and Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma. On May 14, 1971 Susie married Daniel De Deere in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They had four children and were married for thirty-eight years. Susie worked at the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She worked in Public Relations and Sales at Arrowhead Lodge in Canadian, Oklahoma. She worked at the Eufaula Indian Health Center, Eufaula Indian Community and Creek Nation Head Start. Susie also served on the Eufaula Indian Community Board, the Stidham School Board and the Creek Nation Health Board. Susie loved sports- bowling, volleyball, softball, and basketball. She loved coaching little league when all her children were playing. Susie even coached her granddaughter's team in basketball. She also enjoyed sewing for everyone. Susie just loved being around her children, grandchildren, and her great grandson, Adrian, who she had many great conversations with on the porch. He was her little helper. She was the best Nanny anyone could ask for. She was a member of New Arbor Indian Baptist Church in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Survivors include: her sons, Michael Deere, Daniel Deere; daughters, Michelle Deere and Shawna Deere; her grandchildren: Tiarra Michelle Deere, Daniel J. Deere, Lauryn Tafv-Hill, Arrow Echo-hawk Deere, Earnest Daniel Shade; one great grandson, Adrian Lee Martin; sisters, Ramona (Phillips) Bedford and Amanda (Phillips) Middleton, all of Eufaula, OK. Susie is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Deere; her parents, Rev. Dan and Mina Phillips, Jr.; her sister and brother in-law, Jena (Phillips) Loma and Kenneth Loma; great niece, Camdyn Middleton; brother in-law, Jackey L. Bedford; and niece, Chana Loma.
