Troy Alvin Smithee, 97, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021, at the Eufaula Manor Nursing Home. Troy was born on March 3, 1924, in Eufaula, Oklahoma, the son of James Harrison and Lucy Belle Pruitt Smithee. He attended Oak Grove and Stidham Public Schools. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1942 and served for three years before being honorably discharged. In 1942, Troy married Winnie Willmon in Muskogee. She preceded him in death in 2011. Troy owned Smithee's Phillips 66 Gas Station. He was a coon hunter who enjoyed watching professional baseball. his favorite team was the Atlanta Braves. Troy was a member of the Longtown Full Gospel Church. Survivors include: his daughter, Shelba Haynie of Eufaula; sons, Dennis Smithee of Eufaula and Ken Smithee and wife Shelby of Larkspur, CO; one granddaughter, Kristen Watson and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son in law, Richard Haynie, eight siblings and a great grandson, Cole Watson.
