Timothy Edmond Sumpter

Timothy Edmond Sumpter, 56, of Eufaula passed away at his home. He was born on May 13, 1958, in Roanoke, Virginia the son of Frank Carl and Betty Josephine (Gerard) Sumpter. Timothy enlisted in the United States Coast Guard on March 7, 1977 in Roanoke. H During his service, he earned several awards including the Rifle Marksman ribbon, the Pistol Marksman Ribbon, the Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal, the Coast Guard Unit Commendation with Device Ribbon, the Humanitarian Service Medal and the Commandant Letter of Commendation. He was honorably discharged on October 3, 1984 in Mobile, Alabama. Timothy was a member of the New Heights Baptist Church in Moore. He is survived by his longtime friend, Anita Renn of Eufaula; his brother, Frank C. Sumpter, Jr. of Moore and two grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
