Thurnis "Shorty" Metcalf

Thurnis "Shorty" Lee Metcalf, 86, of Eufaula, passed away on April 7, 2021 at his home. Shorty was born on November 19, 1934 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Joseph Clark and Elizabeth (Bess) Metcalf. He graduated from Muleshoe High School in Texas. Shorty served in the United States Navy for four years. He worked as a steal worker for forty-five years. Shorty was a member of the Eufaula First Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include: his sons: Brian Metcalf and wife, Kim; Gene Metcalf and Joe Metcalf, all of Eufaula, OK; sister Debbie Holt, of Tulsa, OK; eleven grandchildren: Kasidee Beaver and husband, Aaron, Micah Metcalf, Ethan Metcalf, Jordan Metcalf, Jacob Metcalf and wife Madison, Joshua Metcalf, Jeremiah Metcalf, Autumn Metcalf, Amanda Metcalf, Kayden Metcalf, and Bryan Vermillion; and three great grandchildren: Tatum Metcalf, Kai Pierce, and Myles Metcalf. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Harold Gene and Robert; and two sisters, Betty and Stella.
