Aleta was born on August 11, 1928 in Featherston, Oklahoma to Ode Kie and Lucy (Nail) Roberts. Aleta graduated from Quinton High School in 1947. She lived in Bay City, Texas for twenty years and Quinton most of her life. On November 7, 1990, Aleta married Hester Bland, who preceded her in death in 2010. They were happily married for twenty years. Together, Hester and Aleta had eight children, thirty-five grandchildren, eighty-five great grandchildren, and thirteen great great grandchildren. She worked as a cook in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, at the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and Jones Academy Indian School for over twenty years. Aleta retired in February 1980. She loved to sew and make quilts. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include: son, John Burge; daughters: Margaret Carlisle; Marsha Hoffman and husband, Vernon; Mary Rose and husband, Duaine; Yolanda Fewell and husband, Clint; Ruth Wilson and husband, Kenneth; and Marsha Bland; sister, Wynema Fixico; brother, Kenneth Roberts; thirty-five grandchildren; eighty-five great grandchildren; and thirteen great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hester Bland; parents, Ode and Lucy Roberts; daughter, Jacqueline Burge; step daughter, Rose Fitzer; step son, Herman Bland; son in-law, Les Carlisle; two brothers: N.J. Roberts and O.K. Roberts, Jr.; five sisters: Anita James; Genita Rhoda; Oleta Roberts; Geneva Robinson; and Juanita Burney.
