Syble Dean Shropshire

Syble Dean Shropshire, 90, of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020, at the Claremore Nursing Home. Syble was born July 2, 1929, in Patrick, Oklahoma, the daughter of James Manley and Josephine Leflore Long Buie. She attended Canadian Public Schools. Syble married John David Shropshire on October 31, 1953, in Eufaula. To this union two children were born, Choya and Sonya. Syble enjoyed being in plays, swimming, dancing-especially the Jitterbug, playing basketball against the All-American Redheads, and riding motorcycles with her children. She could shoot a rifle with accuracy off her hip. She loved her birds, Pete & Peppy. She especially loved playing with her grandkids and great grandkids. Syble loved to hand wash her clothes with Tide and Downey and put them on the line to dry. She never met a stranger and always had a sense of humor. Syble worked at Woolworth, Molan's Cafe, John Harkey's 5 & 10 prior to becoming a full time housewife and a mom.. For a short time, Syble lived in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, which she enjoyed attending the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman. Syble was a servant for the Lord, a Jehovah Witness, she was active in social work. Survivors include: her son and daughter in law, Choya & Kemmie Shropshire; her daughter and son in law, Sonya and Frank Clark; her grandchildren, Jess Moore and wife Samantha, Joseph Shropshire and wife Traci and Jacob Shropshire; her great grandchildren, Ella Moore, Holden and Charlotte Williamson, William Shropshire, Lilly Ann Shropshire, Lucas Shropshire, Gabriel Shropshire, and Charlie Ann Shropshire; her brothers, Jimmy Buie and wife Velma and Travis Buie and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her infant son, Ronald Eugene Weeks, her husband, John, brother, Victor Buie and wife Wahala, her sister, Mable Doris Buie and her infant brother.
