Susan E. Malik

Susan was born on September 19, 1943, in Miami, Florida, the daughter of William Buford and Viola Martha (Allyn) Young. She graduated from Eufaula High School in 1961 and won Ms. Lake Eufaula. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Education from the University of Oklahoma. She later received her Masters Degree in Counseling from Northeastern State University. In July 1966, Susan married Thomas L. Ray in Eufaula. She worked as a public school counselor for twenty years. Susan later married Ilahi Malik in Fort Smith, Arkansas. In her free time, Susan enjoyed crafts, scrapbooking and genealogy. Susan was a kind, loving and very loyal person. She was super creative and loved to laugh and make people laugh. Her greatest joy was spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. She was of the Episcopal faith. Survivors include: her daughter, Patricia Carvalho and husband John of Issaquah, Washington; her brother, James Allyn Young of Tulsa and three grandchildren, Samantha, Lindsay and Felicity. She is preceded in death by her parents.
