Shryl June Leatherman

Shryl June Leatherman, 74, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at her home. Shryl was born on November 2, 1948, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the daughter of James Henry and Hazel Marie (Barnett) Leatherman. She graduated from Carl Albert High School in Midwest City in 1966. Shryl enlisted in the United States Army where she received her LPN nursing degree. She was honorably discharged after 17 years service as a Sgt. First Class E-7. Shryl taught nursing during her time in the Army. She retired from teaching from Epperly Heights in Del City. Shryl enjoyed being with her sisters, riding motorcycles and going to casinos. She was an animal lover.

Survivors include her four sisters, Susan Gardner of Del City, Gaynelle Anderson of Eufaula, Sheila Brackett of Eufaula and Margaret Smith of Yukon. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Hazel Leatherman and a sister, Linda Anderson.
