Shirley was born on May 16, 1937 in Nashville, Tennessee to William and Ethel Warren Oeser. She attended school at Jet, Oklahoma through the ninth grade and graduated from Canton High School in 1955. At the age of 18, Shirley married and had two kids, Sandra Sue and Bart Edward. After being divorced, she moved to Eufaula. Shirley was the first woman hired to work in the Farmers and Merchants Bank, where she worked for several years. She met her future husband, Curtis Pollard. They were married on December 14, 1962 and had one son, Gary. They were happily married for over fifty-three years. During the years, the family lived in Little Rock, Arkansas, Indianapolis, Indiana, Marietta, Georgia, and Stilwell, Kansas. Shirley worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for over twenty years. They moved back to Oklahoma and lived in Muskogee for the past nine years. Shirley was a loving mother, wife, and sister. She cared a lot for her family and friends. She helped raise her grandchildren, Rachel and Chris, providing them with valued advice to help them in life. Shirley enjoyed being with her great grandchildren, Adriyana, Kali, and Keira. She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her husband, Curtis Pollard; daughter, Sandra Petroski-Pollard; son, Gary Pollard; grandchildren: Rachel and Chris Petroski; great grandchildren: Adriyana, Kali, and Keira; sister, Linda Lane and husband, Phil, all of Muskogee, OK; brother, Charles Oeser and wife, Roberta, of Wagoner, OK; sister in-law, Evelyn Oeser of Houma, LA; and many relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Oeser; and son, Bart Edward.
