Shelton Crabtree Jr., 84, of Eufaula, passed away Monday, July 30, 2018, at his home. Shelton was born on February 4, 1934, in Eufaula, Oklahoma the son of Shelton and May Francis (Taylor) Crabtree. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1955. While attending school, Shelton played clarinet in the band, played basketball and baseball. In 1956, Shelton enlisted in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged nine months later. Shelton worked for the Ford Motor Company in different jobs including janitorial, working the line, and was a supervisor. He worked for Ford for thirty-five years. Shelton was also an active farmer and rancher. Shelton was a member of the Palestine Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. Survivors include: his wife, Katie Crabtree, of the home; his son, Malcolm Drone of California; his daughters: Sharlene Crabtree of Missouri, Terri L. Gaston of California, Karen Hicks, and Kathy Hicks, both of Texas; his sisters, Joyce Lyons, of Guthrie, OK and Eloise Washington-Beasley of California. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and other family members. Shelton is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Chester Lee Crabtree and one daughter, Pamela Bradford.
