Sam Lynn, Jr., 88, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021, at the St. Francis Heart Hospital of Tulsa. Sam was born on November 24, 1932, the son of Sam and Gladys (Norris) Lynn. In 1950, Sam graduated from Stidham High School. He attended Connors State College for two years. On December 3, 1955, Sam married Bobbie Jean Alcorn. They were happily married for sixty-three years. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on October 9, 1956 and was honorably discharged on August 19, 1958. Sam earned his bachelor's degree from Northeastern State University. He later earned his master's degree from Southeastern State and received his administration degree from Oklahoma State University. He received his counseling degree from Northeastern State University. Sam first started teaching in Fame in 1956, from there he taught in Shamrock, Stidham and Eufaula. Sam was a teacher, coach, councilor and principal. He retired in 1988 as the Jr. High Principal in Eufaula. Sam's hobby was bailing hay. He never fished or hunted a day in his life. Sam was a member of the Eufaula Church of Christ. Survivors include: his daughter, Tammie Jean Burns and husband Michael of Eufaula; one granddaughter, Mikyla Lynn Burns and fiancé Chad Barnett of Broken Bow; brother in law, Alfred Acorn of Liberty MS and sister in law Tommie Mason of Eufaula. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Gladys Lynn and his wife, Bobbie Jean Lynn.
