Rosemary Riddle Simpson, age 80, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 27, 2021. Rosemary was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on August 30, 1941. She graduated from Eufaula High School in 1959 and received her BA in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma in 1963 where she was also a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. On July 20, 1963, Rosemary married Robert Lee Simpson, III. She worked for The Daily Oklahoman for 10 years as a columnist. She also wrote with her father, H.M. Riddle, as co-editor of the Outdoor News and helped him begin H.M.R. Associates. She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church. Rosemary was a strong supporter of libraries and dedicated many hours to helping build and establish Eufaula Memorial Library. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert M. Riddle and Rita Ruebena (Corbin) Riddle. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, R.L. Simpson, III; daughter, Regan Urquhart and husband Charles; grandchildren, Ashten, Rebecca, Kaitlyn, Robert and Abigail Urquhart; and sisters, Elizabeth Dodd and husband Jim, and Ronna Troup; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Jean Davis, Sherry Barnett, and Diana Haley for their loving care of Rosemary over the past few months. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honor Rosemary make a donation to Eufaula Memorial Library or the charity of their choice. A memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later date.
