Rose Marie "Rosie" Stoos, 80, of Porum passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at her home. Rosie was born on August 2, 1937, in Scott City, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph H. and Agnes H. (Fetsch) Droste. She graduated from Stratton High School in Stratton, Colorado in 1956. She then graduated from Saint Anthony Practical Nursing School in Denver, Colorado. In 1968, Rosie married Ernie Stoos in Enid, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in September, 1994. Rosie was the first president of the quilt guild. She was the pageant director of the Lake Eufaula pageant for ten years. Rosie was an active member of the Lake Eufaula Association for many years, a member of the Porum Landing Fire Department and a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church of Eufaula. She and her husband were land developers since 1969 developing Hickory Hills and Lakeview Country Estates. Rose will be missed by many. She was very generous with her time and talent. Survivors include: her step sons, Danny Stoos and Ernie Stoos, Jr. both of Colorado; her step daughters, Loraine Peochowkic, Sharon Maes, Shirley Thompson and Pam Richardson all of Colorado; her brothers, Raymond Droste of Shawnee and Frank Droste of Colorado; her sisters, Genny Rubio, Carol Whitten and Dottie Monroe and husband Hayward all of California, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernie, one stepson and one stepdaughter.
