Rosalia Elizabeth Mcginnis Kelsoe

Rosalia Elizabeth McGinnis Kelsoe was born on August 17th 1929 in Coalgate, Ok. to James and Josephine McGinnis Harkins, and she went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 7th, 2016. She lived a wonderful and colorful life, and she lived it to the fullest with both dignity and class. Rosalia and her husband, the late A.L. "Bud" Kelsoe were the first land developers on Lake Eufaula, where they established many different communities including Bud"s Point, Sam"s Point, Sportsman"s Club, Kelsoe Development, and several others. They had bought three miles across and twenty-seven miles long from Eufaula to McAlester because of the dam being built which would eventually flood and create Lake Eufaula. As the lake filled, Rosalia went down into the bottomland to help on horseback and gathered all the cattle that were running and brought them out for Bud to haul to higher ground. If you"re ever in Sportsman Club or Kelsoe Development, and you see a Deborah, Katherine, Betty, Kay, Patricia, Karen, or Rosalia Avenue road sign, you are in one of the communities that Bud and Rosalia developed. They also owned nursing homes in both Eufaula and Checotah for many years, including Cedar Manor, Checotah Manor, and Friendly Manor, where Rosalia was able to use her gift of Nursing to its full potential. Rosalia loved to help people in any way she could including setting up charge accounts at local stores for school children, purchasing Christmas presents for struggling families, and helping employees in any way she could to help improve their quality of life. She loved her family dearly, and stood behind them during any and all endeavors with the full strength and love of a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Rosalia enjoyed raising Thoroughbred racehorses at her and Bud"s local ranch (Kelsoe Racing Stables). They produced many winners, and Rosalia was known to be a good "picker" at the track. She also enjoyed being a member of many local clubs including the Ladies Auxiliary of Eufaula and Checotah, Business and Professional Women"s Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and PTA. Rosalia was also a founding and very active member of St. Paul"s Catholic Church. Rosalia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband A.L. "Bud" Kelsoe, and daughter Deborah Kelsoe, her brother, John McGinnis and sister, Mary Lynn. She is survived by her two daughters Betty Kelsoe and Patricia Webster; one son-in-law Raymond "Ike" Webster; three grandchildren Misty Carmack and husband Greg Carmack, Nyssa Cox and husband James "Clint" Cox, and Alyse Grzymala; great grand-children Dana Carmack, & Dalton Chandler, Kori Carmack, Codi Carmack, and Elliot Grzymala; one great great-grandchild Roper Chandler; her sister, Effie Jo Timberjack and a host of nieces and nephews.
