Robert Paul Quimby, 74, of Checotah, passed away on May 6, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Robert was born on October 26, 1946 in Trenton, New Jersey to John S. and Pauline Maude (Brown) Quimby. He received an Associate's Degree in Engineering. Robert served in the United States Marine Corps. On July 3, 1969, he married Kathy Dodd in Dallas, Texas. They were happily married for forty-six years and raised three children together, before Kathy, preceded him in death in 2015. Robert worked at National Oilwell for about thirty years before retiring in 2007. After retirement, he helped out at All Pawn in McAlester. In his younger years, Robert enjoyed woodworking. He built decks and furniture. He was also a jack of all trades and the ultimate handyman. Robert later enjoyed sitting in the sun and being at the lake. He was a member of the Eufaula First United Methodist Church. Survivors include: his son, Paul Quimby and wife, Pam, of Checotah; daughters: Kasey Tucker and husband, Jason, of Allen, TX; and Kate Quintanilla and husband, Michael, of Broomfield, CO; grandchildren: Madeline Jones, Tyler Tucker, Colby Tucker, Ann Marie Galindo, and Alyssa Quimby; and two sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Pauline Quimby; and his wife, Kathy Quimby.
