Robert Bruce Doncarlos

Bob was born on May 27, 1920 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Lee and Eva Mildred (Wade) Don Carlos. He grew up in the Jennings and Oilton area until he was 15 years old. The family then moved to Ohio. He attended Oklahoma A&M (OSU), where he received his Associate’s Degree in Agricultural Management. On November 17, 1941, Bob married Hattie Jane Smith, who preceded him in death on December 3, 1976. He was drafted into the United States Army on March 20, 1942 and was honorably discharged on March 1, 1945. While enlisted, Bob received many medals including: Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. He and Hattie made their homes in various towns in Oklahoma. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Bob worked for Sinclair, O.F. Warren, and Apache Corp as a Superintendent. In 1974, he and his good friend, Paul Holt, started their own Oil Company, D & H Oil. On August 30, 1980, Bob married Betty Lou Farley in Edmond, Oklahoma. They then moved to Agra, Oklahoma on a cattle ranch and later moved to Lake Eufaula. He retired in 1993. Bob was a member of the Elks Lodge in Woodward, Oklahoma and the Masonic Lodge in Cushing, Oklahoma. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cushing, Oklahoma. Survivors include: his wife, Betty Lou Don Carlos, of the home; one son, Robert Keith Don Carlos and wife, Jon, of Woodward, OK; three daughters, Linda Sue Don Carlos, of Miami, FL; Kathy McClung and husband, Mike, of Vian, OK; Carol Napier, of Eufaula, OK; three sisters, Mildred Burden, of Cushing, OK; Mary June Carter, of Coweta, Ok; Patty Hanes; six grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two loves of his life, his pet dogs, Shotsie and Maggie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Eva Mildred Don Carlos, one sister, Marie Mann; one brother, Bill Don Carlos; and his first wife, Hattie Jane Smith.
