On July 3, 2019, God put his arms around Rita and took her home. She was born to Laverne and Veglia (Boster) Lawrence on September 16th, 1943. At her death she was 75 years old. Rita was preceded in death by both her parents; uncle, Tony Boster; aunt, Nina Rude; and step father, George Anderson. She is survived by her husband, Bill; one son, Kevin Bradley and wife Elizabeth; two wonderful grandchildren, Bellanca and Griffin Bradley; one half sister, Monica; and several cousins. Rita attended the public schools of West Frankfort, Illinois and graduated from high school in 1961. She received her Bachelor's of Science Degree from Southern Illinois University in 1965. Rita also did her graduate work there. In 1965, she began teaching at West Frankfort Unit School District, where she taught until 2000. She taught 4th grade at Logan School, special education at Central Junior High and kindergarten at Frankfort Elementary School. After retirement, she and Bill moved to Eufaula, Oklahoma to be near (and spoil) her grandchildren (it was a success). Rita is a member of West Frankfort Christian Church, where she taught many different bible classes and served several committees for the Lord. She loved her home, yard and flowers and was very creative in art and decorating. Rita chose to be cremated. A private service will be held at Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home chapel. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort, Illinois. Interment will be at Frankfort Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort, Illinois. It is requested that there be no flowers. Donations should be made to First Christian Church in West Frankfort, Illinois or St. Jude's Children's Cancer Research Center and God's Helping Hands.
