Richard Herman Benesh

Richard Herman Benesh, 79 of Longtown, Oklahoma passed away on December 15th, 2017 at his home. Richard was born on June 28th, 1938 in Prague, Oklahoma to Herman Richard and Alvina (Heinzig) Benesh. He graduated from Norman High in 1956.On June 2nd, 1958, Richard married Jeralyn Sue Owens in Oklahoma City. They were happily married for almost sixty years and raised three children together. Richard served in the United States Army National Guard for a total of forty-three years. He also served in Desert Storm. Richard lived and worked as an Inspector in Norman for the United States Army until his retirement in 1993. He and Jeralyn moved to Morgan's Point, Texas before settling in Longtown in 2011. Richard was a member of the Eufaula VFW Post 8798. He liked to tinker with his toys, work on lawnmowers, and travel. He especially enjoyed cruises with his wife, Jeralyn. Survivors include: His wife Jeralyn Benesh; his son, Terry Benesh of Tulsa, OK; his daughters, Debbie Benesh; and Patty Honeysuckle and husband Bill, all of Stigler, OK; two grandchildren: Emily and Allison Benesh; and his sister, Margaret Benesh of Dallas, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Alvina Benesh. Cremation arrangements were made with Hunn Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory.
