Ruth was born on August 8, 1919 in Haskell, Oklahoma to Samuel Kern and Rosa K. (Schue) Richard. She married Everett Eugene Blake on August 17, 1935 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They had two children in Oklahoma, and then relocated to Fresno, California where they had six more children. She and Everett raised their family, worked and retired in Fresno, California. After Everett passed on May 5, 1984, Ruth spent the last year of her life with her eldest daughter in Eufaula, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in her community. Survivors include: her son, John Wayne Blake; two daughters, Barbara Ruth Brown; Madeline Elaine Preheim; two brothers, Samuel Richard; Robert Richard; two sisters, Mildred Deeds; Amy Younger; twenty-two grandchildren; and forty-three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Rosa Richards; her husband, Everett Blake; two sons, David Paul Blake; Everett Dale Blake; three daughters, Elsie Jean Morris; Irma Sue Kemp; Linda Mae Clouse; one brother, Francis Richard; and three sisters, Mabel Johnson; Marie Salem; and Retha Mae Etherly. Services were held in Fresno, California.
