Reba Gawf Thomas

Reba "Curly" Gawf Thomas, 99, of Checotah, passed away on March 2, 2024 at her home. Reba was born on January 26, 1925 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to G.W. "Doc" and Ada Belle (Thomason) Gawf. She attended Eufaula Public Schools. Reba worked as a beautician for over twenty years. On March 10, 1965, Reba married L.C. "Buzz" Thomas. She and Buzz had a welding business in McAlester for thirty years. They were happily married for thirty-one years, before he preceded her in death in 1996. Reba was a member of the Eufaula First Baptist Church. She was also a member of Women of the Elks, Fleas, and was a Lifetime Member of the McAlester VFW Auxiliary. Reba and Buzz traveled extensively. They especially loved going to Tunica, Mississippi and Shreveport, Louisiana.

Survivors include: son, Billy Tim Davis and wife Shirley; grandson, Clint Davis and wife Trina; great grandson, Cash Davis; step great grandchildren: Haley Gritts and husband Kasey and son Kooper, Tyler Baldridge and wife Shaelynn, and Makayla Leach and daughter Adaly; brother, Hubert Gawf; niece, Joy Gawf-Crutchfield and husband Doug; nephews, Gary Gawf and Danny Reynolds and wife Sharon; great nieces and nephews: Leigh Anne Lane and husband Stefan, Kyle Mobley, Jonathan Mobley, Cyndi Coker and husband Mike; Kamm and Keeley Coker; Deanna Camacho and husband Anthony; Alexis, McKenna, Riley, Sasha and Mason; numerous extended family members and special friends Bob Johnston and Elaine Dollins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, G.W. and Ada Belle Gawf; husband, L.C. "Buzz" Thomas; sister, Thelma Reynolds and husband Hiram; and sister in-law, Jerri Gawf.
