Ralph Haland Hoss, 87, of Eufaula, passed away on May 23, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ralph was born on April 6, 1927 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Ralph Wynne and Winifred Irene Hoss. He graduated from Charles Paige High School, and attended college during and after Army service at the end of the Second World War. On February 17, 1950, Ralph married Fern Burdine. They spent sixty years happily married and primarily residing in their beloved home just outside of Eufaula. Ralph was a valued member of the Eufaula Church of Christ. After retiring from the Corp of Engineers in 1977 as the Chief of Reservoirs, the licensed professional engineer worked as a sub-contractor to maintain the various dams and other facilities of the Tulsa District. In his life, he enjoyed hunting, automobiles, traveling, Purple Martins and caring for his pets. He also enjoyed his family and spending time with his great grandsons. Ralph was preceded in death by his brother Nelson and his parents. Fern preceded Ralph on October 18, 2010. He is survived by his two sons: Kurt Hoss of Tulsa, OK; and Kris Hoss of Broken Bow, OK; three grandchildren: Julie Turlington and husband, Edwin; Leslie Finch and husband, Emmett; and Brian Hoss; and two great grandchildren, Edwin and Hoss.
