Queen Ester English

January 26, 1929 — May 1, 2024

Queen Ester English transitioned on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at her home. She was born in Cathay, Oklahoma, to Martha English and Morris B. English on January 26, 1929. She was the ninth of 12 children. She was a remarkable woman of God, who touched so many lives. God saw that the roads were getting so difficult to climb, for my sweet mama. God extended his loving hands saying "Sis. Queen Ester, I've preparest a place for you my faithful and loyal servant."

Sister Queen Ester attended public school in Cathay, Oklahoma, graduating from Booker T. Washington High School in Eufaula, Oklahoma. She later went to florist school, completing it with honors. She then began a career that she loved so dearly. She remained a florist for 52 years retiring at the age of 82 years old.

Queen Ester joined Dickerson Chapel A.M.E. Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until her illness. She began serving the church as a member of the youth choir. Her activities in the church continued by serving as teacher, family counselor, Y.P.D. Director, secretary, missionary and yet part of the culinary staff and as an active member of the Stewardess Board. She loved serving God and listening endless hours to gospel and praise music with her loving sister Larsenia English. Queen would complete her day at 1:00 a.m. with "The Bold and the Beautiful." She would talk with her loving daughter-in- law, Ruby Miller and compare notes from the night before.

On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, Queen (Queenie) Ester gained well deserved wings and became "Our Forever Angel." She longed to be with her beloved son, Robert Miller and leaving behind her beloved daughter, Diane Broadous. She was a very proud and hard working woman. Her dedication showed in any task in which she embarked upon. She loved her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, daughter-in-laws, sister and friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved son Robert Miller and 2 great grandsons Ariel Broadous and Johnathan LaMont Broadous.

Queen Ester faced many heart breaking losses in her life, both of her parents, Martha and Morris B. English, siblings Matilda (Richard) McKinney, Earl LEe English, Dorothy Richards (F.B.), Classie B. Bell (Buck), Charley English (Rosie), Samuel English, 3 unborn sisters and 1 unborn brother, and 3 nephews Richard (Mattie) McKinney Jr., Leon (Bell) Cheatham and O'Dale Shine.

Her memory will be cherished by her precious daughter, Diane (Caldwell) Broadous, aunt Larsenia English, and Nanette and Earnest Carr, of the home. Also to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, granddaughter, Cheryl Cooley, great granddaughter Katelin Allen, grandson Clifton E. Broadous Jr (Sofia), great great grandson Seth Broadous and Keenan Broadous, 5 step grandsons and 2 step granddaughters, granddaughter Angela Broadous, great grandson Jayron Broadous and great granddaughter Aloana Broadous, daughter-in-law Ruby Miller, grandson Marcus (Christy) Miller and great great granddaughter Kelonie Miller, great granddaughter, jasmine MIller, great great granddaughter Ceyveon Miller, grandson Antonio (Tammy) Miller, great granddaughter Tandrea Miller, great great granddaughter Michelle Miller, great granddaughter Tayona and Taleah Miller, grandson Maurice Miller, great granddaughter Maurisha Miller, great great grandson Ahziyah William, granddaughter Kimberly (Kim) Miller, great grandsons, La'Maurice Miller, LaDale Walker, Iyanla Walker.

God's love is always there for you, Nanette and Earnest Carr for giving so much of your time and life for mom. I can't keep from wiping away my many tears from my eyes, for my heart is quite heavy and broken. My mom was trying to prepare me for this life journey. My mom was so loved by so many to count, that left an everlasting impact on everyone that had the privilege of knowing her.
