Phyllis Jean Colbert, 65, of Eufaula, passed away on January 9, 2021 at the Stroud Regional Medical Center. Phyllis was born on April 9, 1955 at Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Charley Barnett and Leona (Marshall) Colbert. She graduated from Eufaula High School in 1973. Phyllis attended Bacone, Connors State College, and received her Dietary Management Certification from Tulsa Technology Center in Broken Arrow. She started her employment at Eufaula Sewing Factory. Phyllis also worked at Phoenix Indian High School in Phoenix, Arizona. She worked at the Eufaula Manor Nursing Home as the head cook for seventeen years, before retiring. Phyllis was an Ironhead, Sooners, Thunder and Celtics fan. She loved watching her son, nieces, and nephews play sports. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. She loved the Fast and Furious movies, Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons. She was a life-long member of the Tuskegee Indian Baptist Church. Phyllis served as the Treasurer and Song Leader as well as teacher for VBS and MSW Association Camps. She went on several mission trips to Florida and Montana. Phyllis loved sharing the Lord with people. Survivors include: her son, Roger Colbert and wife, Cassandra, of Edmond; brothers: Rick Colbert and wife, Elaine, of Muskogee; Gary Colbert and wife, Barbara, of Norman; Dr. Charles Bo Colbert, of Eufaula; and Rev. Allan Colbert and wife, Sherry, of Muskogee; sister, Charlene Colbert, of Eufaula; nine grandchildren: Jaedyn Knox, Joey Knox, Drew Knox, Braylon Colbert, Lyla Knox, Leah Colbert, Linus Colbert, Ellisyn Colbert, and J.D. Goombi; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her mother, Leona Colbert on February 13, 2004 and her father, Charley Colbert on August 13, 2005; nephew, Charles Colbert, Jr. and great nephew, Gavin Matthew Colbert.
