Phil Scotzin, 71, of Checotah, passed away on December 17, 2021, at his home. Phil was born on November 24, 1950. He graduated from U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City. He enlisted in the United States Army on October 29, 1968,, and was honorably discharged on August 3, 1971. Phil worked as a quality assurance inspector for CMI Terex for forty-three years. Phil met and began dating Theresa "Terry" Alexander on December 2, 1994. They married on November 11, 2013, in Jones, Oklahoma. Phil loved fishing, boating, watching western movies, First 48, and True Crimes. He also enjoyed college football, especially the OU Sooners. Survivors include: his wife, Terry, of the home; son, Shannon Scotzin of Arlington; daughter, Jennifer Murray and husband Bill, of Jones, their children, Jesse Cook and wife Mariah of Midwest City, Jace Cook, William Murray, Rhonnie Murray, Bobby Murray and Stella Murray; daughter, Beverly McCurdy of Jones, her children, Miri McCurdy, Zayn McDonald, Airi Laws, Nova Lyons and a great granddaughter, Avery Cook. He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Shawn Scotzin in 2012.
