Pamela Beth Steidley

August 9, 1954 — September 14, 2024

Pamela Steidley, 70, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024. She was born on August 9, 1954, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Charles (Red) and Genoa (Redding) Peterson. As a younger woman Pam loved the lake and having fun. If you were a friend of hers, you have good memories of gatherings and parties and having fun on the lake. Pam also loved sports and loved watching her son and his friends compete in baseball games for years. Pam maintained a love for watching professional basketball on TV and rarely missed a Thunder game.

Pam went to college in Tahlequah where she received a degree in education. Pam taught Physical Science and Psychology at Collinsville High School Prior to having a child she also coached softball and basketball. Pam was late to work almost every day so kids would try to get her for first hour so that they could also be late.

Pam lived in Collinsville for most of her adult life where she taught high school. After she retired, she moved to Eufaula to be close to her brother Randy Peterson and mom Genoa. She resided there for years until health complications forced her to move to Tulsa and Collinsville to be closer to her son Adam.

Pam never had a home church but had a lot of writings about her faith and was vocal about the peace she believed God could provide and assured me she spoke to God often.

Survivors include: her mother, Genoa Curtis of Eufaula; son, Adam Steidley and wife Jamie of Collinsville; sister, Janette Johnson; brother Bill Curtis; sister in law Lana Peterson; grandchildren Agustus Steidley and Scarlett Steidley; nieces Heather Thompson and Carrie Rapp and nephew Blake Johnson. She is preceded in death by her father Charles (Red) Peterson, stepfather Garland Curtis and brother Randy Peterson.
