Oleta Lejoyce Neill

Oleta LeJoyce Neill, 91, of Canadian, passed away on July 3, 2021 in McAlester, Oklahoma. LeJoyce was born on February 6, 1930 in Indianola, Oklahoma to Homer and Iva Lillian (Bynum) Lusk. She played basketball and graduated from Indianola High School in 1948. On May 13, 1948, LeJoyce married C.P. Neill, who preceded her in death on May 26, 2013. They were happily married for sixty-five years and raised four children together. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Canadian. LeJoyce lived in the Canadian area her entire life and worked as a homemaker. She was a great cook, seamstress, and quilter. LeJoyce loved her grandchildren more than life itself and tolerated her children and their bossy ways. Survivors include: her sons: Miles C. Neill and wife, Virginia, of Fountain, CO; Homer Ray Neill and wife, Debbie, of Canadian, OK; Vess Dean Neill and wife, Glenda, of Canadian, OK; daughter, Iva Louann Dugan, of Canadian, OK; sister, Sue Lusk McClish, of Oolagah, OK; nine grandchildren: Matt, Nathan, Bobby, Phillip, James, Ian, Sean, Devon, and Derek; and ten great grandchildren: Keely, Jacob, Brilee, Ava, Blayden, Makalyn, Maggie, Nolan, Calvin, and Carder. She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Iva Lillian (Bynum) Lusk; husband, C.P. Neill; brother in-law and sister in-law, Leroy and Vera Northcutt; brothers: Wade Clyde Lusk, Homer Eugene Lusk, Harold Dean Lusk, Jimmy Don Lusk, and John Franklin Lusk; sister, Norma Jo Beshear; parents in-law, Vess and Callie Lou (Jenks) Neill; and son in-law, Lee Dugan.
