Nathan was born on March 24, 1918 in Quinton, Oklahoma to Edward Luck and Ada (Killingsworth) Etchison. He attended Quinton Public Schools. On November 14, 1936, Nathan married Frieda Fonetta Martindale, who preceded him in death on August 22, 1975. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp on July 31, 1945 and was honorably discharged on October 27, 1945. Nathan worked as a heavy equipment operator for Peter Kiewit Construction and Snodgrass Construction Company. In 1976, he married Dorothy Jean Hamilton in Kansas. Nathan was a member of the Quinton First Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy J. Etchison, of Tulsa; sons: Martin Etchison, of Broken Arrow; Len Etchison; and Yancy Etchison, both of Quinton; daughters: Sue Owens and husband, Neal, of Ft. Worth, TX; Liz Dalberth and husband, Tom, of Webster, NY; Nadine Monroe and husband, Dan, of Catoosa; and Nancy Scott and husband Don, of Wilburton; step sons: Robert Mealer, of Springfield, MO; and Lee Mealer, of Houston, OK; niece: Imajean Thomas, of Okmulgee; nephews: Tom Buckovinsky and Randy Buckovinsky; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by the mother of his children and first wife, Frieda Etchison; sisters: Gertrude Ahern and Billye Faye Moody; and parents: Edward and Ada (Killingsworth) Etchison.
