Mona Wilkerson

Sylvia Mona Wilkerson, 87, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the Eufaula Manor Nursing Home. Mona was born on June 27, 1936, the daughter of Earl Pleasant and Lilla Mentora (Wilkerson) Henson. Mona grew up in Cisco, TX. She met her husband, Jim in Oklahoma City were they married and had two of their three children, Valerie and Jimmie. The family moved to LaPuente, California where their third child, Lori was born. They lived in California and Las Vegas until they moved to the Dallas, TX area then Austin, TX and New Orleans following Jim's work. They moved back to Oklahoma City where Mona made a beautiful home and helped care for her nine grandchildren. Mona and Jim retired to Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma to enjoy their sunset years. Mona was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. Mona loved the Lord and spent years involved in serving her local church. She taught Vacation Bible School and helped with youth groups. Mona loved to paint. She was involved in art and crafts of all kinds. She loved to sew and create.

She is survived by her husband James Morton Wilkerson of Eufaula, OK; four children, Valerie G Armentrout of Broken Arrow, Lori Lynn Eddins of Amarillo, TX, Jimmie Wayne Wilkerson of Eufaula, OK, and Robin V Wilkerson; grandchildren, Craig Eddins and family, Katie Eddins, Stephanie Davis and family, Sherri Snare and family, Scott Armentrout and family, Luke Morgan and family, Darren Armentrout and family, Michelle Armentrout and family, Stephanie Ann Cloud and family, Kristine Lynne Wilkerson, Daniel James Wilkerson and family, Timothy Wayne Wilkerson and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Lilla Henson.
