Michael Lewis Turner

Michael Lewis Turner, 82, of Checotah, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Michael was born on June 21, 1942 in Quincy, Illinois to Russ and Katherine (Davis) Turner. He enlisted in the United States Army on July 6, 1960. He was honorably discharged on February 26, 1962. On December 15, 1982, Michael married Bobbye DeGeer in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. They were happily married forty-three years. Michael received his bachelors degree from NSU in 1991. He worked in juvenile affairs. In his free time, Michael enjoyed fishing, going to the casino and horse track, spending time with his family and his dog Susie. He also enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Bulls.

Michael is survived by his wife Bobbye, one daughter Patty Turner O'Dea and husband Steve of Tulsa, son Brian Turner and wife Karrterisa of North Carolina eight grandchildren Katy Wiedel, Wyatt Turner, Katherine Hutchens, Kristy Turner, Kasady Carroll, Emily Erwin, Jake Wiedel and Gabe Wiedel and eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Russ and Katherine Turner, his Grandma Davis and his father and mother in law Tom and Altirean DeGeer.
