Merilyn Sue Anderson

Merilyn S. Anderson, 72, of Porum, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at her home. She was born on October 6, 1951 in Freer, Texas, the daughter of Ray Lee and Minnie Sue (Koso) German. She graduated from high school in Texas and worked in retail until retirement. On October 30, 1982, Merilyn married Virgil "Buck" Anderson in San Martin, California. They were happily married thirty-four years. Merilyn and Buck lived in California until 2003 when they moved to Porum, Oklahoma. Merilyn was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8798 of Eufaula.

Survivors include son, Doug Anderson of Checotah and two grandchildren, Samantha and Alysa. She is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Minnie German and her siblings, Ray, Roger and Mary.
