Melba Lou Edwards

Melba was born on February 2, 1939, the daughter of Estle and Eunice Ruth (Alexander) Burns. She attended Eufaula Public Schools. On February 3, 1956, Melba married Leslie Glen Edwards in Eufaula. She worked as a hairdresser for ten years. Melba co-owned and operated Burns IGA for twenty plus years as a third generation grocery store owner. She also co-owned and operated Fashion World. Survivors include: her husband, Leslie "Glen" Edwards, of the home; her daughters, Renee Stewart of Eufaula and Leslie Gail Edwards of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; her sister, Rhea Jean Parish and husband John of Eufaula; her sister-in-law, Delcene Burns of Eufaula and Johnette Burns of Conway, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Roger Glen Stewart, Joseph Stewart & wife Tiffany, and Rachel Stewart all of Eufaula; and two great grandchildren, Noah Wylee Stewart and Shaylee Faith Stewart. She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Glenn Burns and Jerry Ray Burns.
