Mary Ware

March 11, 1927 — August 19, 2016

Mary was born on March 11, 1927 in Comanche, Texas to Ollie and Iva Ona (Hicks) Grigsby. Her family moved to Oklahoma City when she was an infant. She attended school at Verden, Oklahoma. Mary married John Ware on January 30, 1943 in Oklahoma City. They were happily married for seventy-two years and raised two children together. She worked as a cashier at several grocery stores including Safeway Grocery for thirty years. In 1974, Mary retired and moved to Lake Eufaula. For the past thirty-seven years they were "snowbirds" and went to south Texas during the winter. Mary was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: her daughter, Karen Rogers and husband, Tom, of Longtown, OK; son, Don Ware and wife, Paula, of Wasilla, AK; grandsons: Haven Galloway and wife, Jayme, of Mustang, OK; Brian Ware and wife, Jennifer, of Wasilla, AK; granddaughters: Shelly Embree and husband Stephen, of OKC, OK; Angela Geliberte and husband, Darrel, of Vallejo, CA; Kelli Kilcher and husband, Shane, of Homer, AK; and fourteen great grandchildren; two great great granddaughters and one great great grandson. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John on May 4, 2015, three brothers, three sisters and one great great grandson Mason Dunn. The family will receive friends from 1-3 on Monday, August 22, at the funeral home.
