Mary Louise Sams

Mary Louise Sams, 75, of Checotah, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Eastar Health System in Muskogee. Mary was born on May 14, 1940, in Wagoner, Oklahoma the daughter of Roy and Alice (Allen) Pergeson. She graduated from high school in California. She returned to Oklahoma and later worked as a cashier for Wal-Mart for twenty plus years. She liked to ride the lawn mower and mow the yards. Mary also enjoyed reading. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: her sons, Gary Creekmore and wife Terri of Canadian and Joseph Creekmore and wife Michelle of Checotah; her daughters, Nita Yainkes and husband Max of Visalia, California and Sherry Smith and husband Mike of Ardmore; her brothers, Bobby Pergeson of Porterville, California and Roy Pergeson and wife Mary of Seagleville, North Dakota; thirteen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by her parents and one sister Evelyn Pergeson.
