Mary Jo Long, 78, of Eufaula, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Eufaula Manor. Mary was born on April 12, 1934, in Eufaula, Oklahoma the daughter of Everitt and Nervie Jane (Foster) Montgomery. She attended both Artussee and Eufaula Public Schools. On January 8, 1951, Mary married George Miles Long in Van Buren, Arkansas. Mary was a homemaker. She and George moved to Sublette, Kansas where they lived for 15 years. They then moved to Dallas. She was a cake decorator for family and fun for 25 years. In 1998, Mary and George returned to Eufaula. Mary loved to paint, spend time with her family and always worked to get family together for reunions. Survivors include: her son, Miles Long and wife Janice of Olathe, Kansas; her sister, Shirley Proe and husband Wayne of Eufaula; her brothers, Howard Montgomery and wife Wanda of Eufaula, James Montgomery and wife Hazel of Lawton, Donald Montgomery and wife Kim of Salina, Kansas and Bob Montgomery and wife Linda of Checotah. She is also survived by her grandchildren Melissa Long and Jared Long both of Olathe, Kansas. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, George Long, on September 11, 2008, her parents, her brothers, Thomas, Earl and John Montgomery and her sisters Betty Westmoreland and Opal Weeks.
