Mary Helen Young

Mary Helen Young, 75, of Canadian, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021, at her home. Mary was born on May 4, 1945, in Missouri, the daughter of Aubry and Vera Hood. On February 14, 1962, Mary married Ira Joe Young in North Little Rock, Arkansas. They were happily married for fifty-eight years. She worked as a seamstress and made collegiate graduation cap and gowns. Mary was a member of the Canadian United Methodist Church. Survivors include: her daughter, Sonya Young of Canadian; her son, James Young and wife Raychel of Oklahoma City; brother, Abner Young and wife, Virginia; four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ira J. Young; sisters: Sarah Owen, Barbara Atkins, Naomi Mitchell, and Margaret McSann.
