Mary Ellen Headrick

Mary Ellen Headrick, 78, of Checotah, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at her home. Mary was born on September 12, 1942, in Onapa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Vernon McCray and Dovie Mae Carr Walker. She graduated from Checotah High School. She received her Associate's Degree from OSU Okmulgee in computer technology. Mary also received her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development from Northeastern State University. On July 15, 1961, Mary married Jerry Lee Headrick in Peggs, Oklahoma. They were happily married for fifty-nine years. Mary was equally compassionate as she was intelligent. Survivors include: her husband, Jerry, of the home; her son, Shawn Rose-Headrick of Tulsa; her daughters, Amy Headrick of Fort Gibson, Donna Headrick and wife Angela of Richland Hills, Texas; and her brother, LD Walker and wife Ketty of Thailand. She is also survived by a host of brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Scott Headrick, a daughter, MaKayla Headrick and brothers, Earnest Walker and Harold Walker, two sisters: Alma Lorraine Kritikos and Verna Ruth Altebaumer, several brothers and sisters in-law; nephews and niece, Keith Walker, Tammy Pekera, Damon Walker; and great niece, Kaitlyn Singleton.
