Mary Burnside

Mary Frances Burnside, 81, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023, in Muskogee, OK. Mary was born on August 17, 1941, to William Quitman and Dorothy Mae (Eastman) Cates. In 1959, she graduated from Humes High School in Memphis, TN. Mary was married to Charles "Chuck" Burnside on December 26, 1985. She served in the United States Army for two years. Mary worked for Levi Strauss for twenty-two years. She enjoyed woodworking, fishing and being outdoors.

Mary is survived by her sons, Paul Edward Boling and spouse Theresa of Checotah, and David Wayne Boling and spouse Diane of Jackson, TN; daughter, Rachel Lynn Welch and spouse Jerry of Newalla; brothers, Hubert Cates, Quitman Cates and spouse Suk, and Albert Cates and spouse Deborah; sisters, Thelma Boyle, Ruth Sprouse and Dorothy Marnell Maxey and spouse Robert; grandchildren, Maryanne Tolbird and spouse Randy, Brittney Davis, Jennifer Brown and BJ Medley, Kristie Lenard and spouse Jason, Adam Boling, David Alan Boling and spouse Elio, Takiya Boling, Tessela Garrett, Tenesha Garrett, and Lance Welch; fourteen great grandchildren; and sister-in-laws, Mary Esther Cates and Jeannie Cates. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Quitman and Dorothy Mae Cates; husband Charles Burnside; brothers, Elbert Earl, R.C., and David Lee; and sister in-law, Mary Alice Cates.
