Marvena (Helms) Ginn, 83, of Eufaula, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012, at the Eufaula Manor Nursing Home. Marvena was born on November 12, 1928, at Jennings, Oklahoma the daughter of Edward Lee and May Bell (Counts) Helms. In 1933, the family moved to the McCree Bend, near Lenna, Oklahoma for 2 years. She started school there in a one room school house. In 1935, they moved to Stidham where she lived until she married Kenneth “Pete” Ginn in 1948. They lived in Oklahoma City for 7 years. Two sons were born there, Kenneth Lee and Keith Leon Ginn. In 1955 the family moved to the 42 Area for two years. In 1957, they moved to California. Pete passed away in 1987 from cancer. Marvena moved back to the Eufaula area in 2000. Survivors include: her sons, Kenneth and wife Debby in Erie, Colorado and Keith and wife Pam of Bakersfield, California; her sisters, Geneva Stark of Eufaula and her brothers, Melvin Helms of Eufaula, Leo Helms of Bakersfield California and Douglas Helms of Checotah; her grandchildren, Meredith (Ginn) Riley of Denver, Colorado, Matthew Ginn of Phoenix, Arizona, Jeffery Ginn of Taft, California and Melissa (Ginn) Lopez of Bakersfield, California; her great grandchildren, Triston Ginn, Cameron Ginn and Bryson Ginn all of Taft, California and Kiya Lily Lopez and Devin Lopez both of Bakersfield, California. Marvena is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Marvena is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister-in-law, Loeta McNatt in 2001, her brothers, Lee Roy Helms in 1980, Audie Helms in 2006, Lloyd Helms in 2007 and a sister, Juanita Adams in 2009. Marvena was baptized into Christ in 1948 at the Church of Christ in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
