Marquetia Lea Tounwin Simpson, 73, of Checotah, passed away Monday, November 16, 2020, in Tulsa. She was born on July 21, 1947, in Hinton, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lloyd and Bessie (Williams) Tounwin. In 1965, Marquetia graduated from Sequoyah high school. She married John C. Simpson in Chandler, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1999. Marquetia owned and operated the El Sombreo Mexican Food Bakery. The bakery delivered all over the Oklahoma City Metro for over thirty years. Marquetia was a member of the Eastern Star in Jones. Her biggest love was spending time with her family and grandkids on a daily basis. Survivors include: her daughters, Anita Simpson and Shawnna Rainbolt and husband Bobby; her son, Jonathan Simpson; her grandchildren, Courtney Stanton and husband Micky, Cheyenne Simpson and husband Keith, Hailey Simpson and Clint Andrews and Chance Rainbolt; her great grandchildren, Micky Stanton III, Alea Mattison, Ava Mattison and Keith Mattison III. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Simpson; her son, Mark Simpson; her sisters, Winifred Tounwin, Lou Ella Tounwin, Melvina Stevens, and Vivian Proctor; her brothers, Milton Tounwin, Nathan Brown, Melvin Tounwin; and two great grandchildren, Raelynn and Brynlee Stanton.
