Margaret "Margie" Ellen Gunn

Margie Ellen Gunn of Eufaula, OK passed away in Stillwater, OK of natural causes, April 12, 2023, with loved ones by her side.

Margie was born to Harold & A. Arlene Lewis on August 6, 1944 in Des Moines, IA where she grew up and received her education, graduating from North High School. Shortly thereafter she moved to California and worked in Social Services. She worked the remainder of her career as a Federal employee of the Social Security Administration in Muskogee, OK.

While in California she met her husband of 47 years, Bob Gunn, a construction foreman. Bob introduced her to "dune buggies" and they spent a lot of their free time on the dunes.

They moved to Lake Eufaula, OK in 1970, and then moved to Sapulpa, OK in 1974. They bought another house on Lake Eufaula, in Longtown, OK. In the late 70's they moved permanently to their house in Longtown, OK. She continued to live there after Bob passed in 2011.

Bob and Margie enjoyed sharing their lake life with family and friends. They always had the "welcome" sign out. Margie enjoyed water skiing and tubing and playing in the lake. Many, have wonderful memories of times spent at the lake with them. Margie was a very generous & kind person and shared what she had with others. She always had time for conversation and was always there to lend a helping hand. For many years she enjoyed bowling in a league; and she loved her horses. She enjoyed many hobbies and was pretty crafty (candle making, quilting, knitting, and making bath salts). She was a great cook and loved giving baked goods to many that she knew through the Christmas holidays. Margie and Bob made various wood crafted items and gave them away at Christmas. They loved attending arts & craft shows. Many of her female relatives will never forget all of their "girl" trips to War Eagle, Eureka Springs, etc. Besides all of this she was an avid reader.

She is survived by step sons, Troy & Wife Paula Gunn from Wichita Falls, TX; Rick Gunn of Corvallis, OR, and Randy & Wife Glenna Gunn of LaPine, OR; sisters, Judy (Richard) Hall, and Rebecca (Arlo) Edwards (Iowa), and Sister-in-law Ramona Lewis (Missouri); Sister-in-law Nita Moore (Oklahoma); 6 Grandchildren; 8 Great-Grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Gunn, parents Harold & Arlene Lewis (Iowa), parents-in-law Betty & Troy Gatlin (Oklahoma), Sister Linda Kopfer and husband Richard Kopfer (Missouri), brothers; James Lewis and Buel Lewis (Iowa), Jerry Lewis (Missouri), sister-in-laws Darla Shipp and husband Randy Shipp (Oklahoma), Judy Willard & husband James Willard (California), Brother-in-law Bill Gunn (Oklahoma).

Everyone will deeply miss Margie and will always cherish their memories of spending time with Margie, Bob & their many furry companions at their home at Lake Eufaula, OK!
